PERSONAL

Powerlifting

I started casually weightlifting in 2016. In 2017, I decided to begin training as a powerlifter, with a goal of competing in late summer 2018. My participation in this sport has sparked interest among my peers. As an educator in any context, I'm working with my gym, Celli's, to create a series of introductory classes specifically geared toward women with little to no strength-training experience.

Class Proposal

I have been working with Ryan Celli, gym owner (pictured above), to create a series of classes for women interested in powerlifting. We will be running the first trial classes in February 2018, with the goal of public enrollment in March.

Personal Goals

My overarching goal is to perfect the form for each lift: bench press, deadlift, and squat. My goal for 2016 was to cumulatively lift 600 lbs. I achieved that goal in early December. For 2018, I'm aiming to compete with a cumulative total of 675lbs.
